This is a raw beauty, it has never been touched by a polishing machine or saw.  Untouched crystals are often thought to hold greater healing powers. Even though your crystal point is raw, the flat areas are very smooth to the touch and have very few marks on them. The very top point has some tiny nooks and crannies. 
 
The weight is 166 grams (or 5.8 oz) and measures over 2 and a half inches long by over 2 inches wide. It is a very dense crystal and has a wonderful weight if you are using it in your hands for meditation. When placing it on display, it can rest on many sides so you will be able to view it from various angles. This is a gorgeous point to display in your space or to hold in your hands to work with its healing energies.
 
You can see some of the incredibly rich purples mixed with lighter shades that transition into soft gray and earthy browns. There is a lot of character as you turn your Amethyst point as you'll feel the really textured areas on one side that are like a bed of tiny smooth crystals. As you turn it, you'll see rich purple bands inside of the crystal that move toward the tip of the gemstone.  At the very top, there is a tiny cloudy dark area hidden near the clear section.
