This particular piece of Amethyst has such a deep purple richness.  It's unique with its stunning flat surfaces on both sides and hugged by a more natural surface on the edge.  
 
On the edges, you will experience nooks and crannies that are polished but are fully of character.  It is a deeply rich purple (natural) with lighter bandings in angular shapes.  You will also discover white patches on the sides here and there.  There is a lot of striking beauty in this crystal. 
 
I've taken some photos outside so you can really see the way different lighting changes your gemstone.  It's intense and dark in natural light and then just shines with a rich purple in others.
