Rutilated quartz, is a type of quartz with needlelike rutile (a titanium dioxide mineral), embedded in it.  Legend says that this stone contains the light of the sun or the “hair of Venus”.

This stone was created 20 to 30 million years ago when silica in the ocean water hardened and replaced the sea corals with Chalcendoy (which is a form of quartz/agate). It’s interesting as this mineral replaced the coral and took the shape of where the coral used to live.

I wish the camera could catch the true beauty of this stone.  The top of the gem has golden red coral patterns that are almost like tiny suns bursting with colour.  These stars rest above a blanket of darker reds and earth tones that sweep towards the back of the stone bringing a bizarre blue tone to the gem.  It is amazing!  You can almost feel the coral pattern on some the surface with your fingers as there are a few spots you can feel (like tiny nooks and crannies).

Zap zing! WOW! Bronzite is certainly a stone of energy and light!  I've added the second photo of this gem in the sunbeams and you can see the golden flecks that dance along side with darker shades and earthy creamy browns.  It is certainly a stunning piece to wear around your neck.  I just cant describe how amazing this gem is - once you see it in person, you'll understand as it has so much subtle beauty.

Your pendant is one of Rob's favorite pieces - it has been hand cut and polished in our very own studio (right from scratch).   This piece of Jade is so deeply green and when you hold it up to the light, you can see right through parts of the stone.  You can really see that on the bottom tip in the photograph.  There are tiny black freckles that appear before you.

This stone has been cut into a powerful diamond shape.  It's beveled in the front and back so your fingers can really experience the many surfaces. The darker area in the center is not a groove, its actually part of the rich colour palette that this piece of Jade holds in store for you.
