Legend speaks that Aquamarine was believed to contain
the "power of the sea". Because of this, it was dedicated to a number of
sea goddesses (Aphrodite for example - who's name means "born of the foam.") Sailors used this stone as a protection amulet to keep them safe from storms and to bring them home safely.
